Summer is here and it’s time for your favorite cold drinks. Whether it’s Beer, Daiquiris, Water or my absolute favorite… fresh squeezed lemonade. Several weeks ago Andrew and I made fresh squeezed lemonade for the first time and ever since I’ve been completely addicted. I like making it by hand because I can control the amount of ingredients that goes into it and also I personally think it tastes better.
Today I went to make my usual fresh squeezed lemonade but I decided to make it will a little twist by adding blueberries. I wasn’t sure if it would taste good. But I love blueberries so I couldn’t imagine it tasting bad, so I figured why not give it a shot.
I first washed and sliced up all my lemons and then washed my blueberries and got to work making juice.
My mom brought me back this lemon squeezer from one of her many trade shows that she attended this year. I would highly recommend finding a lemon squeezer similar to this one for making fresh squeezed lemonade.
After we squeezed all 6 lemon halves into the pitcher when then blended up the blueberries in my Nutribullet so it was much easier to mix together.
Once the blueberries were blended, I dumped the blueberry juice into the lemon juice.
Next I mixed in the sugar. I had to use two different kinds of sugar because I ran out of the white granulated sugar so I used my ‘sugar in the raw’ packets to finish my 1/2 cup of sugar.
Then I poured myself a nice glass of fresh blueberry lemonade!
